US Music Festivals Still Ahead in Summer 2026

Half of festival season is behind us — but some of the biggest weekends of the year are still to come. Here’s what’s left on the American festival calendar for summer 2026, from Grant Park to Golden Gate Park, with links to official tickets.

Lollapalooza — Chicago, July 30 – August 2

The anchor of late summer. Four days in Grant Park with the skyline as a backdrop and a 2026 bill headlined by Lorde, Charli xcx, Tate McRae, The Smashing Pumpkins and hometown favorite John Summit. Four-day passes tend to vanish; single-day tickets usually linger a little longer. In town for the weekend? See what else is playing: concerts in Chicago.

HARD Summer — Los Angeles, August 1–2

The West Coast’s big dance-music weekend, built for people who come to move rather than watch. The 2026 edition leans into house and techno alongside hip-hop crossovers. More shows that weekend: concerts in Los Angeles.

Newport Jazz Festival — Newport, RI, July 31 – August 2

Seventy-plus years in and still the most storied stage in American jazz. The 2026 lineup pairs legends with crossover acts — Herbie Hancock alongside Thundercat and Lake Street Dive. An easy trip from New England’s hub: concerts in Boston.

Outside Lands — San Francisco, August 7–9

Golden Gate Park, ocean fog rolling in over the polo field, and a 2026 bill topped by Charli xcx, The Strokes and RÜFÜS DU SOL. Famously also a food and wine festival wearing a music festival’s clothes. Extend the trip: concerts in San Francisco.

September is stacked too

Summer doesn’t really end on Labor Day. Riot Fest brings punk and alternative back to Chicago in September; Sea.Hear.Now takes over the beach at Asbury Park, NJ; Monterey Jazz Festival — the world’s longest-running jazz festival — returns to California; and New York’s Global Citizen Festival fills Central Park with stadium-size names. Keep an eye on concerts in New York as the fall calendar fills in.
